Panorama Nederland on Tour
The Netherlands is facing a number of complex issues: climate change, an ageing society, the transition to renewable energy, an acute shortage of housing and limits in agricultural development. The Panorama Nederland presents an image of a country that remains extremely recognizable for everyone, but that works fundamentally differently in terms of mobility, food production, building techniques and energy generation. It is a future perspective for the spatial design of the Netherlands.
The Panorama Nederland (Panorama the Netherlands) is not only a publication, but also a physical panorama: a 360-degree imagination at eye level in which visitors can take a look into the future. It is an initiative of the Board of Government Advisors (Floris Alkemade, Berno Strootman and Daan Zandbelt) and has been produced in close collaboration with the Deltametropolis Association and the designers and visual artists of West 8.
This panorama will travel through the Netherlands in 2019. In the coming period it can be seen at various locations across the country including Tilburg, Utrecht, Leeuwarden, The Hague, Breda and Maastricht. More details on locations and dates can be found on the official Panorama Nederland Project website.
Finalizing Río Cali Park in Colombia
Construction of West 8's footbridges along the Cali River is progressing in full swing! This project spans roughly two kilometers of the Cali River on the north end of the city of Cali, Colombia. It provides opportunities for a variety of spatial experiences and programs, different from the more transient activation of its counterpart. West 8's custom designed terrazzo concrete outdoor benches and bridges and pedestrian promenade, which highlights the intricate brick masonry, are almost ready. Completion of Phase 2 is estimated to commence during the summer of this year.

Construction of Place Gambetta Has Begun
Since Team West 8 + Cetab + Sabine Haristoy + Les éclaireurs + Adema won the competition in 2016, Place Gambetta project has progressed further. Following a preparatory phase, the construction work has recently started.
The design reorganizes the traffic providing a generous space to the pedestrians and magnifies the existing heritage, the facades from the XVIII century as the central English garden. 33 new trees with varied foliage and blossoms will contribute to a better resistance to the traffic pollution, providing a new welcoming open "garden place" for the city.
