Adriaan Geuze Keynote Speaker at Harvard Graduate School of Design Conference on Airport Landscapes

At 9.15am on Friday the 15th of November Adriaan Geuze will be a keynote speaker at the two day conference on the “Airport Landscape:Urban Ecologies in the Aerial Age”, which is hosted by the Harvard Graduate Design School.

Curated and convened by Charles Waldheim and Sonja Duempelmann. “Airport Landscape” claims the airport as a site of and for landscape. Airports have never been more central to the life of cities, yet they remain peripheral in design discourse.

Landscape architects have recently reasserted their historic claims on the airfield as a site of design through a range of practices. Airport Landscape presents these practices and the projects that support them. Adriaan’s lecture titled “counteracting stress-scape” explores these notions and showcases some of West 8’s work in these landscapes of flight.

The conference, which will take place in the Piper Auditorium, Gund Hall, 48 Quincy Street, Cambridge MA from the 14-15th of November, gathers leading designers and scholars from a range of disciplines. The event is free and open to the public so be sure attend if you are avaliable.
