Plants, Pavers and Progress at Governors Island

On September 11, members of West 8’s New York office visited Governors Island to take a look at the construction progress of phase 1 development.

Development is progressing nicely at Liggett Terrace, part of the island’s historic district, the hedges have arrived and the paving is being laid. The terrace will become a lively 4 acre outdoor ‘room’ full of activity with seasonal plantings, water features, children’s play and places to sit, relax and enjoy a coffee and is on schedule for completion later this year.
