In preparing the development vision for the XIII District Danube (Duna) River site WEST 8 explored potential uses of the area in light of Budapest’s legally binding Land Use Plan. Several diverse interpretations of viable commercial and public functions in the context of Budapest’s burgeoning Danube riverside development were correlated – in response to the logic and sense of the urban/river context we propose to develop a number of mixed use buildings embedded in a riverside park and promenade context. Our ambition is to create a living and working campus on the Danube, appropriately related to the city center, to adjacent neighborhoods – and to the river.
