The Cape Grace extension project seamlessly integrates with Monaco’s existing urban fabric, respecting its historical roots while envisioning a new image and opportunities for the future.
Informed by centuries of organic growth in Monaco’s urban texture, the development injects a sense of optimism with new light and energy, creating a comprehensive proposal that aligns with the Principality of Monaco’s functional and technical objectives. The project includes an expansive public realm featuring parks, plazas, promenades, and bicycle paths, enhancing Monaco’s urban experience through the addition of cultural, residential, and commercial facilities.
For over two millennia, La Rocher and Port Hercule have been recognized as ideal living environments. The Cape Grace extension not only aims to enhance the beauty of Monaco but also addresses the recent challenges of increased energy demand, natural resource taxation, and the impact on the built environment. This project presents an opportunity for Monaco to construct a socially, culturally, and economically responsible living environment that is environmentally sustainable, positioning the Principality as a global model. The development’s focus on the sea reflects Monegasque culture, opening the water’s edge to the public and offering a range of leisure activities. Green spaces, both public and private, play a vital role in the project, creating a liveable and accessible environment with shaded trees, green roofs, and integrated balconies and terraces, turning Cape Grace into a continuous green landscape extending into the sea.
