Möbius Garden

‘t Gooi, NL

The Möbius garden is a continuation of the virtuoso line-play found in the architecture of the Möbius house (designed by UN Studio), which stands on a plot of woodland. The garden was not treated as an independent space but as a means of connecting the house to the woods. Several subtle designed elements were introduced: a greenhouse, grassy paths and a dark, reflecting pool.

The black pool reflects the trees and the sky. The winding paths of Wimbledon grass bridge various levels of the garden. They turn and double back before vanishing into thick undergrowth. The textures of the wood and the changing of the season are captured in the Möbius garden. The changing colours of the garden are reflected in the glass facade of the Möbius house.
