Spanning the rail tracks in Aarschot, this pedestrian bridge focuses on the functional character of the bridge as well as on its potential to tempt and surprise its users.
Connecting the old and new parts of the city, the bridge is an important link in the regional bicycle network. Likewise, the bridge offers new access to the station platform.
By virtue of its location, shape, structure and use of materials, the bridge captures the qualities of the surrounding landscape. It offers cyclists and pedestrians a new rest and meeting place above the busy rail tracks while simultaneously giving them a sense of security.
Its steel space grid supported by sculptured pillars and its curved shape offers a variety of constantly changing perspectives and experiences.
