Revitalization Queen’s Quay to take off
The revitalization of Queen’s Quay in Toronto, a project by West 8/DTAH, is about to commence and will be under construction for a period of 2 ½ years. After an intensive period of planning, design and public consultation, the Queen’s Quay Boulevard is finally set to bring a vibrant new pedestrian promenade and will complete the Central waterfront section of the Martin Goodman Trail. The three major components of the project include:
- A broad granite pedestrian promenade with a double row of London Plane trees;
- A new two-lane, two-way street with expanded turning lanes and a dedicated light rail transit (LRT) corridor with widened platforms and passenger amenities;
- Animation of the north (city) side of the street which will rejuvenate ground floor retail activity and urban vibrancy.
Before the construction starts, two public information sessions will be held on June the 6th and 9th.
