With over 25 years of complex landscape design experience, Christian Dobrick brings a tailored approach to the management of projects by engaging, adapting, working within the local context. Rooted in his training and work experience in Germany, Christian embeds pragmatism and engineering into his execution of multidisciplinary, complex projects within the West 8 Studio. As a horticulturalist, he has a rich knowledge of seasonality and ecology, across many distinct climate zones.
His substantial track record of award-winning projects in both China (Zhangjiang Art Park, Columbia Circle and Xinhua Waterfront Park) and masterplan visions in India (Tamil Nadu Biodiversity Conservation Park, Pirotan Island Masterplan) form the foundation of the Asian Portfolio of West 8. In addition, Christian has led a range of flagship projects from West Kowloon Cultural District and Novartis Shanghai Campus in China, to Madrid RIO in Spain and Berlin Tempelhof Habour in Germany.
Christian’s knowledge base, combined with his attention to material choices, allow for a seamless integration of both maintenance, deadline, and budget requirements within the reality of construction in an urban environment.
