Maarten van de Voorde

As Director of West 8 Brussels, Maarten van de Voorde leads a wide variety of projects across Europe, in the regions of Belgium, Luxemburg and France. Focusing on the intersections between architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design, Maarten’s wide array of Public Space, Campus, Masterplan and Infrastructure projects also include the management of West 8’s industrial design, bridge and infrastructure portfolio.
Maarten’s keen insight into solving infrastructural complexities and context-responsive design has resulted in a broad portfolio of completed works, including the wooden pedestrian bridge in Wenduine over the Koninklijke Baan and the redevelopment ‘t Zand Square and King Albert I Park in Bruges. In Montpellier, Maarten is the project leader of the urban change of “EAI”, combining public space works with Architecture and Urban Design.
Maarten is a visiting lecturer at various universities in the Benelux region, including professorships at St. Lukas in Ghent / Brussels, and the Technical University in Delft.
