West 8 exhibits at EMSCHERKUNST 2013 starts from 22nd June

The Art Summer of the Ruhr metropolis will be held between June 22 and October 6, 2013 along the banks of the Emscher River. This second instalment of the EMSCHERKUNST exhibition series invites guests on a journey of art discovery at unexpected locations in the public sphere – ‘a great day out and free of charge’. The total exhibition space encompasses around 47 square kilometres, and is located between the participating cities of Duisburg, Dinslaken, Oberhausen, Essen, Bottrop, and Gelsenkirchen – makes a perfect bycing route for locals and visitors.

Among other participants this year namely Ai WeiWei, Piet Oudolf and Gross.Max and many others, West 8’s art installation ‘Luftsenkel (‘Air lace’)’ will replace the existing parapet on the western side of Emscher Bridge on Schlossstrasse in Dinslaken with a sculptured parapet.
