West 8 Featured in Several New International Publications

We are very proud that two essays by the West 8 team have been published in Sustainable Coastal Design and Planning by Elizabeth Mossop. The book is a collection of exceptional essays by distinguished practitioners from around the world on design and planning for coastal resilience in the face of climate change. Adriaan Geuze, Riette Bosch and Edzo Bindels share an essay on West 8’s Hondsbossche Dunes project and Claire Agre shares an essay on our dynamic Louisiana Giving Delta project.
Staging Urban Landscapes by B. Cannon Ivers, explores Schouwburgplein by West 8 and 27 additional international open urban spaces and their relationship between design, use and social function. The book also contains a new essay by Adriaan Geuze and Annemarie Kuijt, titled ‘Innocence’, which explores the question of how ‘public’ 21st century public space truly is.
In Designing Change by Eric Firley, West 8 founder and director, Adriaan Geuze, shares his broad insights into the contemporary culture of city-making. Designing Change shares in-depth conversations with leading urban designers to examine how the profession can prepare for the future.
Last year also saw the publication of Frontier City, Strategies for Boston Harbor by Daniel Vasini and Adriaan Geuze. The complete Studio Report, published by Harvard University Graduate School of Design, has been shared on Issuu.
