
West 8’s Lower Hill Master Plan receives Honor Award from the ASLA PA-DE Chapter
The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has announced the winners of its 2016 Awards program for their Pennsylvania-Delaware chapter. BIG + West 8 + Atelier Ten’s vision for redevelopment in the Lower Hill district of Pittsburgh won the Honor Award in the Analysis and Planning category.
The Master Plan was recognized for its sustainable design solutions in landscape architecture. The jury commented that it was a “beautifully crafted plan integrating the person, infrastructure, nature, the built environment, and the city.” The plan was also praised for its ”integrated sustainable approach” that ”appears to consolidate all environmental and operating infrastructure into one system.”
The Honor award was presented at the PA-DE ASLA Chapter Annual Meeting’s Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 9th at the Lancaster Convention Center, in Pennsylvania.
